Today we go to The Apron Museum! And to make matters even more exciting, an abandoned nuclear power plant project. Never completed, so no worries.
For all you Civil War buffs, we are also headed to Corinth. If you do not know, then you are not a Civil War buff. Just think 1862. And railroads. If you are so inclined, visit the Civil War Interpretive Center. Whiz by the Crossroads Museum that has trains, firetrucks and whatever. You can also learn about Dilworth’s Tamales.
Bet you have never had a slugburger. Well, Corinth is the place for slugburgers, but you can eat other things. It’s just that Corinth is at lunchtime.
Drive through New Albany. It is has a cute downtown and Scarlet’s Donuts. But donut shops are usually closed after lunch. I suppose if you skipped the slugburgers and Civil War stuff, you could get a donut. Or a dozen. Or two.
To Oxford, home of the University of Mississippi, or Ole Miss (if you were paying attention in Jackson, we really ought not to be calling it Old Miss). Since it is a Monday, and the football game was on Saturday, we will be having our own tailgate cocktails. Oxford has tons of good restaurants. You need to find out what Hotty Toddy means.
